Floors

Moving.

We spent our first night in the new house last night. We had some amazing friends help us move and now I am trying to unpack and find a place for everything.
We had a big rain storm and we found out that our house likes to leak water. There is a moved call "The Money Pit". Jeremy has never seen it so I am going to rent it because I feel like thats what we are living in. I do love are new house. Its just going to take more work than we thought to fix it and it seems that every time we turn around there is something else that needs to be fixed.
The hard wood floors turned out really nice. I love them and I love that Jeremy spent so much time and energy working on them. I took so many pictures so I will post them soon.

Oh my aching back

Today I worked my tail off. I have not worked so hard in my life. I took another car load over. Than I attacked the bathroom. I spent a good two hours on my hands and knees in the bathroom trying to get the title clean. The old owners had just put new title down but there was grout everywhere. I had never seen a worse title job in my life. So I took some Simple Green and a scrub brush and scrubbed the floor till my arms burned and my back ached. Levi got into the bucket of Simple Green and was sucking on a sponge. I had to call poison control but they said that he should be fine. It was my first time calling poison control.
Than Jer got off work and Sherry my MIL came over and we all went to work on the staples and nails in the floor. We got the living room 100% done and one of the bed rooms. Jeremy worked really hard getting the tack strips off from the carpet. And he got one room done. I am going to go there tomorrow and see if I can get the rest of the staples out. I am not sure if I will be able to get the tack strips because Jer was having a hard time with them so we will see. We hope to have the floors ready to sand by Friday. So that mean I have a lot to do tomorrow. I also have a doctors app and a meet up and a BDay party tomorrow. I am so tired and sore all over tonight. I don't want to know how I am going to feel tomorrow.
Being a home owner is a lot, I mean a lot of work. I knew it was going to be work but I did not realized how tired and how sore I was going to be. I will be so glad when we are moved in and can take it easy. I will be so happy when the floors are done and I can stand back and say that we did them.
I really wish I would have taken a before picture of the bathroom. It looks so much better. It looks like a new bathroom. Before if you would have taken a shower in there you would have come out feeling dirtier than before and now you would not mind taking a shower in there. I still have to go once over the whole room but its so much better than it was.
We are still on the hunt for a fridge.

I hate moving

Today was a busy day. I took two car load of boxes over to the new house than waited for the gas guy to come turn on the gas. He came and it took him forever to get the water heater working beacuse there was something wrong with the venting. He was very nice because he could have just red tagged it and told me to get some one out there to fix it but he was nice and fixed it for me.
Than Jer came over after work and we ripped up all the carpet in the 3 bedrooms. Now there is no more carpet in the whole house. I am excited. We are moving right along. Tomorrow we are going to rip up the tax strips from the carpet and get the kitchen sink working. Right now the sink is leaking out the garbage disposal and there is a line that use to run to the ice maker in the fridge that just squirts water everywhere now that there is not a fridge. So we need to cap that I hopefully just tighten the disposal. I am just taking one day at a time and one step at a time. I was really overwhelmed yesterday but I am doing better today. I just want to blink my eyes and have it all done. I hate moving and having a two year old under foot makes it that much crazier. I will be so glad when the move is all over. Its hard to have a house and not be living in it. But I do love the house and think that its going to be great for us to have are own space.

No more carpet

When it rains it pours

Yesterday we signed all the closing papers for the house. We get to keys tomorrow. We are home owners. Its very exciting and scary all at the same time. We went to our new ward today. I love the ward. Everyone was super friendly and made us feel really welcome. I think we will fit into this ward a lot better.
I am a little stressed out right now because I have to get new tags for my car by the end of this month and its going to be $600 to fix it so it will pass the safety and emission test. So Jeremy and I are trying to figure out how we can do it. We might have to wait and fix the floors in the house for a few months because the car needs to be fixed. I guess this is part of being a home owner. I think I am cursed because very car I have ever had has not passed smog the first time and has always cost a but load of money to fix it before it will pass. So I really do think that I am cursed.
We are still trying to figure it all out because we need to redo the hardwood floors and we need to fix the car and we need to get a fridge. Once all those things have happen than I will feel a whole lot better and I know that they will all get done in there own time but I am a total stress case right now, mostly because of the car.

Waiting

We were suppose to close on our house today. Jeremy took half of the day off and we had a sitter set up for Levi but or broker called and said something about the computers being down so they were not able to get the closing documents prepared. So we were on pins and needles all day waiting for them to call and say they got the computers up and very thing was ready. At 4:45 we got a call saying that the computers were back up but it was to late in the day to do it today so we will try again tomorrow.
It was so ruff waiting all day and than not having it happen. It was like when I was pregnant and the hospital was not ready for me and they had me keep calling all day to see if they had a bed open.
Its been one stressful day. I hope everything goes smooth tomorrow. We cant go on like this for to much longer.

Scouts

I did scouts tonight all by myself. My partner had a family thing she was at so I was in charge of it all. Not to toot my own horn but it could not have gone better. The theme this month is Summer fun. So we meet at the park and I brought an ice chest full of water balloons. We played a game with the water balloon where the boys tried to make the biggest spat with the balloon. One at a time they held the water balloon above their head and than threw it on the ground. I than took a piece of chalk and drew a circle around the spat mark the water made on the pavement. Who ever had the biggest circle won. The boys had so much fun spatting the balloons. We did that about 4 times. Than we all sat in a circle and played a version on hot potato with the water balloons. Instead of passing it to the person next to you you threw it to someone across from you. If you did not catch it or it broke on you than you were out and you play till theres a winner. The boys really enjoyed that one. We were having so much fun that a boy from the park joined us. He was a little young for scouts but the more the merrier. Than after a few rounds of that game we had an all out war with the rest of the balloons. Than I said that who ever picked up the most broken balloons got the first treat. I had never seen them pick up trash so fast in my life. They were running every where finding the little pieces of balloon. That was the best part of the night. Some times I do have the best ideas. Than we made smores. My partner had dropped off a little smore maker eairler in the day for us to use. It was this cute thing that you put a can on setrno in and roast the marsh mellows. The boys all had about three smores each. They were compelty wet and sticky by the time they went home.
I am really going to miss the scouts when we move. Its been really fun to work with them. I am not going to miss the ward but the scouts I will miss.

Moving right along

Here is the video tour of our new house. We will close on Friday as long as the under writer stops dragging her feet. Its been one stressful ride and its only just begun.
I have really started to pack and my house is in total disaster mode and Levi has no idea what is going on and hes not helping me pack at all.

No more water please

I think we have more than our fair share of water damage. Today I was sleeping in because on the weekend its Jer job to wake up with Levi and I get to sleep in. So I was just waking up and Jer comes in the bedroom and says to Sammy "If you peed in the hallway than you are going to be spending the day outside" He thought Sammy had an accident but than he realized that it was not Sammy and that there was water flooding the hallway. I jump out of bed and am trying to figure out where all the water is coming from. It was all over the bathroom and laundry room. Jer goes up stairs to get his parents and than we realize that it was the toilet that was leaking. I guess it had been leaking all night and it was a huge leak because we had a lake in the bathroom it had gone all the way to laundry room and than into the storage room. So we spent all morning trying to clean up all the water and we have been using the bathroom upstairs until we can fix the one down here.
First it was the water in the closet, than the celling in the kitchen was raining water, than the window well flooded into our living room, and now it was the toilet. Sherry said this morning that we are probably excited to move out of here because its been one thing after the other and its all been water issues. I think we should be good with the water for a while. At least if it happens when we get our own house than we will know how to handle it and we will have lots of practice on cleaning the water up.
